CA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

SKILLS WORKED ON AND MASTERED

Beginner Tumbling Level 1

  • Shapes- pike, tuck, straddle, hollow shape, lunge
  • Bridge- Learning how to push up to bridge, holding it, walking in it, rocking.
  • Forward Rolls – down a wedge, off a mat, on a soft mat, and on the floor
  • Backward Rolls- hand placement, down a wedge, off a mat, and on the floor
  • Handstand- Hand placement, donkey kicks on the floor, against a wall, with a spot, and on the floor.
  • Handstand to Bridge on Mat.
  • Cartwheels –hand placement, over a mat, on the floor.
  • Bridge Kickovers – Down the Wedge
  • Jumps/Stretching/Conditioning/Flexibility will be worked every class

Intermediate Tumbling Level 1

  • Shapes- Hollow shape, Candlestick, Lunge Levers
  • Bridge- Walks and Rocks, walking up and down wall with hands.
  • Bridge Limber- standing in the Pit/ Mat and then on the Floor.
  • Forward Rolls –on the floor
  • Backward Rolls- down a wedge, off a mat and on the floor.
  • Handstand- Kicking Up against a wall, and on the floor with spot and on your own.
  • Handstand to Bridge- on the Mat and Floor. Learn to stand up.
  • Cartwheels –over a mat and on the floor.
  • Round off- Off a mat, on tumble track, on the floor.
  • Back Walkovers on a mat and on the floor.
  • Front walkovers- down the wedge, on the tumble track and on the Floor
  • Jumps/Stretching/Conditioning/Flexibility will be worked every class

Beginner Tumbling Level 2

  • Handstand Snap Downs off mats,
  • Backhandspring jump backs into pit.
  • Jumping Back over octagon on a soft mat
  • Back and Front Handsprings over an octagon.
  • BHS down a wedge with a spot.
  • BHS off the tumble track into the Pit.
  • BHS with a spot on the floor.
  • FHS over a panel mat, on tumble track and Floor.
  • Round Off Jump Backs into pit and over an Octagon.
  • Jumps, Stretching/Conditioning/Flexibility will be worked every class

Intermediate Tumbling Level 2

  • Shapes- Hollow Shape
  • BHS on the Floor-No Spot
  • Back Walkover BHS
  • 2 Backhandsprings connected Down the Wedge, on Tumble Track.
  • FHS on the Floor- No Spot
  • One arm cartwheels.
  • Round off BHS
  • Round off BHS Series- on tumble track and then on the Floor.
  • Roundoff BHS stepout turn round off BHS
  • Front handpring step out turn Round off BHS.
  • Back handspring Stepout Turn Round off BHS
  • Jumps, Stretching/Conditioning/Flexibility will be worked every class

Tumbling Level 3

  • Shapes- Tucks, Setting Drills with Arms, Round off Set Punch Drills.
  • Front Tucks- Drills off a mat onto a tramp and then onto a mat. Front tucks onto a wedge. Jumping on tumble track and Front Tucking into Pit. Front tuck On the Floor on mat. Front Tuck On the Floor with spot or without spot.
  • 3 Standing BHS on the Floor
  • Round off Rebound Drills up onto High Stacked mats.
  • Round offTuck Drills up onto a High Mat.
  • Round off Tucks off the Tumble Track, then on air track and then on the Floor with a Spot, then NO spot.
  • BHS Step out Roundoff Tucks.
  • Front Walkover Round off Tuck.
  • Roundoff BHS tuck.
  • Jumps, Stretching/Conditioning/Flexibility will be worked every class

Tumbling Level 4

  • Shapes- hollow body, candlesticks from springboard up on the mat.
  • BHS Back Tucks- down a wedge, then On the tumble track and then on the Floor.
  • Standing Tucks- off a mat into pit, jumping back on a mat and then tucking off a mat on the floor, on the wedge, and then on floor.
  • Standing and Running BHs Whips BHS- on tumble track and then on the floor.
  • Round off BHS layouts off the tramp and on the Floor.
  • Front Tuck Step outs on the Tramp and then connected into a round off BHS Layout.
  • Round off Whip Whips.
  • Jumps, Stretching/Conditioning/Flexibility will be worked every class

Tumbling Level 5

  • Twisting Drills onto a Mat from a BHS, Teaching Arm twisting Techniques
  • Round off Layout ¼ turns off Tramp into Pit, Then ½ twists, then ¾ twist. Then full.
  • Round off Fulls into Pit. Then on Air Track, then on the floor onto a mat, then no mat.
  • Round off BHS full’s on Floor on mat and then no mat.
  • Add a front tuck step out or Whips in front of Round off BHS Full.
  • Arabians
  • Standing Fulls in the Pit, on tumble track, on the wedge, and then on the floor.
  • Standing bhs to full.
  • Jumps, Stretching/Conditioning/Flexibility will be worked every class

 

GROUP STUNT

CLASS 30 MINUTES OF FLYING TIME, 10 MIN OF STRETCHING, 10 MIN OF ROPE WORK, 10 MIN OF DRILLS ONTO MATS

(ATHLETES MUST WORK ON THE FLYING SKILLS FOR THE LEVEL TEAM THEY ARE ON….AND ONLY THE NEXT LEVEL UP.) AN EVALUATION WILL HAVE TO BE DONE BY A DIRECTOR FOR THE CHILD TO BE APPROVED TO WORK TWO LEVELS HIGHER THAN THE TEAM THEY ARE ON IN THE ALL STAR PROGRAM.
